Statement from MPP Mitzie Hunter on the 72nd Independence Day of Pakistan

Mitzie Hunter, MPP for Scarborough-Guildwood today issued the following statement on the 72nd Independence Day of Pakistan:

“Today we join Pakistani communities in Ontario and around the world in celebrating the 72nd anniversary of the Independence of Pakistan.”

“The Pakistani community has and does continue to contribute greatly to Ontario. Over 100 thousand Ontarians were born in or can trace their heritage to Pakistan. It is important for us to recognize the different cultures that create the fabric of our province. We are blessed with many heritages, languages and religions – it allows us to experience the diversity and multiculturalism that our country is known for.”

“On behalf of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, I offer my best wishes to all celebrating the 72nd Independence Day of Pakistan.”
