“Robert Burns is one of the most highly-regarded poets in Scotland, and his works are still widely celebrated today.
“Scottish-Canadians have deep roots in Ontario’s history, and over 5 million Canadians claim Scottish heritage. Scottish traditions are woven into our province’s history, and many Ontario towns are named for Scottish counterparts.
“Across our province, Burns Suppers are an annual tradition. On January 25th, communities gather to eat a traditional meal including Haggis, speeches, music, and a recitation of Burns’ poetry.
“I wish all celebrating a very happy Robbie Burns day!”
