Earlier this week, Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. David Williams, advised that Toronto, Peel, Ottawa, and York not trick-or-treat door to door this Halloween.
While I know this is a disappointment to many of you, I believe it is for the best – especially as the positivity rate in Toronto remains high.
Public health officials are advising that families celebrate in alternative ways, including scavenger hunts at home, age-appropriate scary movie marathons, and decorating outdoors. I’ve seen many beautifully decorated lawns in the riding already!
You can find more public health advice and tips for a safe Halloween during the COVID-19 pandemic from Toronto Public Health here.
Thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe.
