This morning, Premier Doug Ford declared a state of emergency amid the COVID-19 pandemic. He also announced further measures to curb the spread of the virus. As a result, the following establishments are legally required to close immediately:

  • indoor recreation programs
  • public libraries
  • private schools
  • licensed child care centres
  • bars and restaurants (except takeout and delivery options)
  • theatres, cinemas, and concert venues

The state of emergency also prohibits organized events of over 50 people, including parades and places of worship.

These measures will be in effect until March 31, 2020.
