Mitzie Hunter, MPP for Scarborough-Guildwood hosted her 1st Annual Youth Career Fair at the University of Toronto (Scarborough Campus) on Saturday March 1, 2014. Over 100 Scarborough-Guildwood youth were in attendance.
The event was well-received by the attendees. Youth were able to explore various career paths and build several skills related to obtaining jobs in the current market. Over 25 employers from across the city took part, including Toronto Recruitment Services, Toronto Fire Services, Toronto Police Services, Centennial College, MaRS, Shoppers Drug Mart, Carpenter’s Union, and Goodwill.
“Investing in our youth is such an important part of building for the future and creating a fair and prosperous society. My 1st Annual Youth Career Fair was a great way to connect the youth of Scarborough-Guildwood with meaningful employment opportunities, as well as preparing them to take advantage of career opportunities once they enter the job market.”
— Mitzie Hunter, MPP for Scarborough-Guildwood
A special “thank you” to Farley Flex, Joseph Khargie, the University of Toronto (Scarborough Campus), staff, and volunteers for making this event a success.
