1st Annual Tea with Mitzie

Senior’s Meet and Greet

January 29th, 2014

MPP Hunter hosted her 1st Annual “Tea with Mitzie” at the beautiful Momiji Centre on January 27th, 2014.  Over 60 seniors from all around Scarborough-Guildwood attended the Tea and Information Session.

Senior’s had a great opportunity to mix and mingle with everyone in the room.  They thoroughly enjoyed the presentations done by 43 Division and Scarborough Seniors Write Club.  MPP Hunter had a wonderful time interacting with each and every one and getting to know her constituents even more.

MPP Hunter wants to thank our 43 Division; especially Constable Rowe and Constable Service who did an outstanding job on informing seniors about safety and avoiding scams. Dania Ansari from Scarborough Seniors Write Club engaged the Scarborough-Guildwood seniors about the pilot creative writing program that is open to all seniors who live in the Scarborough neighbourhood.

“Seniors are the foundation of our society.  The well-being of our seniors reflects on our society as a whole. We need to make it as easy as possible for seniors not only in Scarborough-Guildwood but everywhere else to get around, access services and be able to age gracefully.  In the last year, our government has put forward many initiates that will do exactly that.  I strongly believe that seniors have a lot more to offer to our society.  They play an active and important role in our province’s communities and economy.”

— Mitzie Hunter, MPP for Scarborough-Guildwood
