Scarborough-Guildwood’s New MPP finishes first constituency week
October 18, 2013
Scarborough - Since the Ontario Legislature started sitting last month Mitzie Hunter has been focused on being a strong voice for Scarborough-Guildwood at Queens Park. This week, she has been spending her first constituency week as MPP meeting with local residents, organizations and visiting local facilities.
“My goal is to be accessible and responsive to the needs of residents and to be that strong voice for our community” Hunter said.
“It’s been an incredible week. There were over 100 residents at my constituency office opening” she continued “I’ve been across our community, meeting with residents, students, seniors, and business owners here in Scarborough-Guildwood.
“We kicked off the week with my Constituency Office Open House. Over 100 people who live and work in Scarborough-Guildwood came out to meet me and my staff.”
She was honoured to be invited to the Native Child and Family Services of Toronto, Rouge Valley Centenary Hospital, and Toronto Police Services 43 Division. “I was able to meet with the seniors at Scarborough Village Community Centre and the children at the after school program at St. Martin de Porres. I was happy to join Scarborough Community Legal Services at their Annual General Meeting, and to join MP John McKay for the launch of the Planetary Sciences Faculty at the University of Toronto, Scarborough Campus.”
