Mitzie Hunter, MPP Scarborough-Guildwood, recently held her Fourth Annual Summer Fun Fest at Morningside Park on Sunday, August 13, 2017. With over 500 attendees and more than 30 dedicated volunteers, the community event was a huge success, bringing out residents and friends from across Scarborough-Guildwood.
While attendees enjoyed delicious food (including halal and vegetarian options), children enjoyed playing on a bouncing castle. Other activities, such as the two-minute boot camp, drumming, henna and face painting were hugely popular among the invitees. Several musical and dance performances also added to the celebrations of the day.
Speaking at the event, MPP Hunter said, “This summer has definitely been eventful with many Ontario 150 and Canada 150 celebrations. From the many Canada Day events, to Guild Alive to Jr. Carnival, I have seen members of the Scarborough-Guildwood community come together to celebrate the Province and the country that we all love. Thank you so much to all residents and friends of Scarborough-Guildwood for joining me and showing what a vibrant community Scarborough-Guildwood is!”
