Heritage Week is a time to engage in, promote and explore the rich and diverse heritage of our communities and our province. The province’s annual Heritage Week celebrations are led by the Ontario Heritage Trust, an agency of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport. Ontario Heritage Week 2016 runs from Monday, February 15 to Sunday, February 21.
This year, the Trust is showcasing the history of medical science and innovation in its public programming and educational activities. Throughout Ontario’s history researchers, innovators and medical professionals have transformed health care in our province, but also helped save and improve countless lives around the world. 2016 is also a milestone, as we commemorate the 50th anniversary of universal health care in Ontario. In keeping with this theme, Heritage Week Celebrations are being held in partnership with Queen’s University and the Museum of Health Care in Kingston, at the Queens University Biosciences Complex on Wednesday, February 17, 2016.
